Bartlett & Tarbell CPAs

Louisville, KY

37 Years of Louisville Accounting — and Two of Three Partner LinkedIn Profiles on “Meet Our Team” Are Broken. One Links to a Stranger.

The “Meet Our Team” page of bartletttarbell.com lists the firm's three named partners with professional headshots, credentials, and LinkedIn profile buttons — designed to let prospects verify credentials before a first meeting. Of the three LinkedIn links:

Partner 1's LinkedIn URL: 404 — the profile slug changed and was never updated.

Partner 2's LinkedIn URL: Routes to a construction manager in Chicago — wrong person entirely.

Partner 3's LinkedIn URL: Works correctly.

The “Meet Our Team” page is the most trust-critical page on a professional services website. It exists specifically to close hesitant prospects by proving the people are real, credentialed, and findable. Two out of three links are broken — and one actively routes to someone who has nothing to do with the firm.

The Firm

Bartlett & Tarbell CPAs has been serving Louisville businesses and individuals since 1989. Tax planning, corporate accounting, estate planning, business valuation, and audit services — 37 years of Louisville market presence with a client base that includes mid-size businesses, estate planning clients, and professionals.

At the partner level, credentialing matters most. A business owner considering Bartlett & Tarbell for their corporate accounting or estate plan is making a significant trust decision. The “Meet Our Team” page is their first and often only opportunity to verify the people they're hiring. The page as it exists does the opposite of that.

What We Found

Broken LinkedIn links, a misrouted profile, and a trust page that actively undermines the firm it's meant to introduce.

Partner 2's LinkedIn Links to a Different Person

This is the most damaging error. When a prospect clicks Partner 2's LinkedIn button, they arrive at the profile of a construction manager in Chicago. The LinkedIn URL was likely entered incorrectly during site setup — either the wrong person's vanity URL, or a URL that was reformatted incorrectly. The result is that every prospect who verifies Partner 2's background encounters someone who is not a CPA, not from Louisville, and not affiliated with the firm.

A prospect who decides to double-check before signing an engagement letter finds this. The question that follows — “does this person actually exist?” — should never form.

Partner 1's Profile Generates a 404

LinkedIn periodically allows users to change their vanity URL. Partner 1 appears to have changed theirs at some point after the site was built. The old URL now returns a LinkedIn 404. For a prospect who clicks and sees nothing, the interpretation is the same as a nonexistent profile — whether the partner is real or not.

The Trust Page Is the Most-Read Page for Enterprise Clients

Business owners doing due diligence before engaging a CPA for corporate accounting, business valuation, or estate planning read “Meet Our Team” carefully. It's often the deciding page. Two broken LinkedIn links and a wrong-person redirect on that page cost the firm credibility at exactly the moment they most need it.

What We'd Build

A Louisville CPA firm website where the partners are real, verifiable, and presented with the credibility 37 years of accounting expertise has earned.

Partner Bios That Close Deals

Verified LinkedIn profiles, correct URLs, actual headshots, credentials listed (CPA license numbers, education, specializations), and a plain-language sentence about what each partner actually does. A “Meet Our Team” section that makes a business owner feel confident before they pick up the phone.

“Louisville Business Accounting Since 1989”

37 years in Louisville is a meaningful differentiator. A hero section that leads with that tenure — and the specific industries and client types the firm serves — positions Bartlett & Tarbell against competitors who have been in business for five years.

Service Pages for Corporate and Estate Clients

Tax planning, corporate accounting, estate and succession, business valuation, and audit — each described in language that speaks to the Louisville business owner or high-net-worth individual who needs a firm they can trust with sensitive decisions.

Spec Redesign Deliverables

  • All partner LinkedIn URLs verified and corrected — no 404s, no wrong-person redirects
  • Partner bios rebuilt with credentials, specializations, and plain-language descriptions
  • “Louisville Business Accounting Since 1989” hero — 37 years as the lead trust signal
  • Service pages for corporate accounting, estate planning, tax, and business valuation
  • Free consultation CTA with 24-hour response — primary conversion path for new clients

The Opportunity

Bartlett & Tarbell has 37 years of Louisville client relationships, a 4.7-star rating from 198 reviews, and a genuine expertise in corporate and estate accounting that smaller firms can't match. None of that matters if the “Meet Our Team” page routes a prospect to a construction manager in Chicago.

The broken links are fixable in an afternoon. What's harder to fix is the impression they've already made on every prospect who clicked through, came up empty, and chose a different firm. That cost is ongoing — every month the links stay broken.

A firm that has operated for nearly four decades in one market has a story worth telling. The website should tell it — and the partners should be verifiable by anyone who looks.
