Every page of their website — home, services, contact — shows a persistent banner: “This website was built on Wix. Create yours today.” A live advertisement for Wix, displayed to every patient, on every page load.

The Business

Jackson Norris Family Dental is not a basic dental office. Dr. Robert Jackson and Dr. Terry Norris run a practice in Owensboro, Kentucky that has invested in technology most local practices haven't. They're certified Gold Status Invisalign providers — a designation that requires training, case volume, and demonstrated outcomes. Dr. Jackson has been trained on the Solea laser, which means patients can have cavities filled without a drill and, often, without anesthesia.

The practice is in a medical center, suite-level space, and by all accounts provides genuinely excellent care. Their website address is jacksonnorrisdental.wixsite.com/jnfdental. And when you visit it, the first thing you see is a Wix advertisement.

The Problem

Here's what we found when we audited the Jackson Norris website:

The Banner That Greets Every Patient

Across the top of every page is a persistent banner that reads:

“This website was built on Wix. Create yours today. [Get Started]”

This is not a subtle footer credit. It's a full-width bar that appears above all of the practice's content. It's a live advertisement for Wix's competitor services, displayed to every person who visits, on every page load. The Wix free tier is a legitimate tool for personal projects and early-stage businesses. It is not the right platform for a dental practice offering $5,000 Invisalign treatments and advanced laser dentistry.

The URL Is the First Problem

Before any patient even loads the page, they encounter jacksonnorrisdental.wixsite.com/jnfdental — not a professional domain. A professional domain costs $15–20/year. The Wix subdomain signals the same thing the banner says: this is a free site. Google confirms the SEO impact: a wixsite.com subdomain does not rank competitively in local search. Any patient searching “family dentist Owensboro KY” will find practices on their own domains first. Jackson Norris is largely invisible to new patients who discover their dentist through search.

Eight-Year-Old Staff Photos

The staff photos currently on the site are from 2018. The image filenames reference Facebook post IDs from that year. Eight years have passed. Staff may have changed. But the website doesn't know that. For a patient trying to recognize their future care team, outdated photos are more than an aesthetic issue — they're a trust issue.

Gold Invisalign Status Hidden

Gold Status Invisalign certification is a meaningful differentiator — most Owensboro practices aren't certified at that level. It's buried on the site, nowhere near the hero. The Solea laser — no drill, often no anesthesia — is the single biggest anxiety-reducer a dental practice can offer. It's not prominently explained. Both credentials are invisible to the patients who would choose this practice specifically because of them.

The Solea Laser — A Dedicated Explanation

No drill. Often no anesthesia. For the majority of patients who dread dental visits because of needles and drills, this is transformative. The Solea laser gets a dedicated section or page that explains it in plain language, addresses the anxiety directly, and makes the booking CTA obvious.

Updated Team Photos and Contact Form

Current photos of the care team. A contact form that works on desktop and mobile. A Google review widget. The practice has already done the hard work — two doctors, real credentials, genuine patient care, modern technology. The website just needs to catch up.
