Case Study
Komar Accounting
Evansville, IN — Serving Clients Since 1975
The Homepage Says “4111 Washington Ave.” The Directions Link Routes to 1431 S Green River Rd. Every Client Who Clicks for Directions Gets Lost.
The homepage of komaraccounting.com displays the firm's address prominently:
4111 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714
The embedded Google Maps “Get Directions” link in the footer hardcodes coordinates for a completely different address:
1431 S Green River Rd, Evansville, IN 47715 — a location approximately 3 miles away.
A new client who looks up the address on the homepage, clicks “Get Directions,” and follows the map ends up at a strip mall on Green River Road — not the firm's office on Washington Avenue. The very act of trying to find Komar Accounting sends them somewhere else entirely.
The Firm
Komar Accounting has been serving individuals and businesses in Evansville since 1975. Over fifty years of local practice — Frank Komar Jr. and staff like Katie Perkins, EA providing tax preparation, bookkeeping, business accounting, and payroll services to clients across the Tri-State region.
The firm's entire value proposition is built on personalized, local service — the kind of accounting practice where clients come in to meet with their accountant in person. For that business model, sending a first-time client to the wrong address is not a minor inconvenience. It is a first impression that may never recover.
What We Found
A mismatch between the displayed address and the embedded directions link — the kind of error that actively harms client relationships at their most vulnerable moment: the first visit.
Two Addresses, Three Miles Apart
The displayed address — 4111 Washington Ave — and the embedded map destination — 1431 S Green River Rd — are not close. They are in different parts of Evansville, separated by roughly three miles. A client navigating by the map directions doesn't end up a block off. They end up in the wrong neighborhood.
The mismatch almost certainly occurred when the Google Maps embed was configured using a pin that was dropped at the wrong location and never checked. The result has been sitting on the homepage, actively misdirecting clients, for an unknown period of time.
The Highest-Stakes Moment: A Client's First Visit
New clients researching Komar Accounting, reading the service descriptions, and deciding to come in for a consultation are using that directions link to find the office. They arrive at the wrong address, realize their mistake, and now face a choice: figure out where the firm actually is (possibly by calling during what was supposed to be their appointment time) or move on to another CPA. Some will call. Some will not come back.
A Trust Problem for a Trust-Based Practice
Komar Accounting markets “personalized service” and the close client relationships that come from a local firm that knows its clients by name. A client who gets lost trying to find the office for the first time has experienced exactly the opposite of personalized attention. The error isn't just inconvenient — it contradicts the firm's core brand promise.
What We'd Build
A site that guides clients to the right door — and positions Komar's 50-year Evansville legacy as the compelling credential it is.
Correct Location, Verified Map Embed
A single, verified address — 4111 Washington Ave — with a Google Maps embed confirmed to route to the correct location. No mismatch between what's displayed and where the link sends clients. Every contact page and footer pin tested before launch.
“Serving Evansville Since 1975” Hero
Fifty years of local accounting practice is a powerful credential — especially for clients who want a firm that will still be here in five years. A homepage that leads with that longevity and the depth of the relationship-based practice Komar has built.
Service Pages That Convert Local Searches
Tax prep, bookkeeping, payroll, business accounting — each described in plain language for Evansville individuals and small businesses. Content that ranks for local searches and converts the prospect who finds it.

The Opportunity
Komar Accounting has something most accounting firms can't claim: fifty years in Evansville. That longevity reflects generations of client trust and a reputation built through real relationships. The website should amplify that story — not undermine it with a directions link that sends first-time visitors to the wrong address.
The misdirection bug is an easy fix. The bigger opportunity is building a homepage that earns the trust a 50-year firm has already accumulated — and converts the prospect who is comparing Komar against other Evansville CPAs before picking up the phone.
We've built the spec redesign. Katie and the team at Komar can see exactly what it looks like before committing to anything.
