Case Study
Lightpath Wealth & Tax
Louisville, KY — Wealth Management & Tax Planning
The LinkedIn Button Is Labeled “RSS.” The YouTube Button Is Labeled “Google.” Every Social Icon on the Site Links to the Wrong Platform.
Lightpath Wealth & Tax's website has social media icons in the footer and header. A visitor who wants to follow the firm on LinkedIn clicks the LinkedIn button. They get RSS. A visitor who wants to find them on YouTube clicks the YouTube button. They get Google. Every social icon on the site is mislabeled and routes to the wrong destination.
LinkedIn icon → labeled “RSS.” YouTube icon → labeled “Google.” Sitewide, on every page.
This is not a broken link. The icons display. They are just completely, consistently wrong. Every visitor who tries to connect with Lightpath on social media ends up in the wrong place. The firm's social presence is invisible to anyone who tries to find it through the website.
The Firm
Lightpath Wealth & Tax is a Louisville-based wealth management and tax planning firm offering integrated financial services — investment management, tax strategy, financial planning, and retirement income planning under one roof. The integrated wealth-and-tax model is a genuine differentiator in the Louisville market, where most clients see their financial advisor and CPA separately.
A firm that integrates wealth management and tax planning is, implicitly, promising a high level of attention to detail — the kind of firm that notices the interaction between your capital gains and your tax bracket, that catches things other advisors miss. The mislabeled social icons tell a different story.
What We Found
Social media icons that appear functional but route visitors to entirely wrong platforms — a disconnect that persists on every page of the site.
The RSS/LinkedIn Mismatch
The icon displayed is LinkedIn. The label reads “RSS.” RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a feed technology from the early 2000s used to subscribe to content updates — not a social platform, not a professional network, and not something a modern wealth management firm would prominently feature as a connection option.
A prospect who clicks the LinkedIn button expecting to find the firm's LinkedIn profile — to verify credentials, read posts, look at advisor backgrounds — gets an RSS feed destination instead. The connection they were trying to make doesn't happen.
The Google/YouTube Mismatch
The YouTube icon is labeled “Google.” YouTube and Google are related (Google owns YouTube) but they are not the same platform. A visitor clicking YouTube to find the firm's video content ends up at a Google destination. Again: the connection doesn't happen. The mislabeling persists on every page of the site.
Sitewide, Consistent Error
These aren't isolated to one page. The footer and header social icons appear throughout the site — meaning every visitor, on every page, who tries to connect via social encounters the same broken experience. The reach of the error is the entire site.
What We'd Build
A site that works exactly as it appears to — where every button, icon, and link takes a visitor to the right place, and the integrated wealth-and-tax positioning is communicated clearly.
Social Icons That Work
Correct icons, correct labels, correct destinations — LinkedIn to the LinkedIn profile, YouTube to the YouTube channel, every social platform linked accurately. Basic function, done right, which is exactly what the current site fails to deliver.
The Wealth + Tax Integration Story
“Most advisors manage your investments. Your CPA manages your taxes. Neither knows what the other is doing. We do both.” — the integrated model explained in terms that make the value obvious to a prospect who has ever felt caught between two professionals who didn't talk to each other.
Louisville-Market Trust Signals
Advisor credentials, firm history, the specific types of clients served, and a clear path to a first conversation — everything a Louisville prospect needs to decide whether to reach out.

The Opportunity
Lightpath Wealth & Tax has a genuinely differentiated service model in the Louisville market. Integrated wealth management and tax planning under one roof is what sophisticated clients want — the kind who are tired of their advisor and CPA not communicating. That's a strong pitch that the current website underserves.
The social icon errors are fixable in minutes. The bigger opportunity is building a website that makes the integrated model the centerpiece — the thing that differentiates Lightpath from every other wealth manager in Louisville who offers half the picture.
We've built the spec redesign. The team at Lightpath can see exactly what it looks like before committing to anything.
