Naturally You Salon is a Nashville natural hair and beauty salon offering services, treatments, and an online product shop. The site is built on Weebly's free tier and is served over plain HTTP — no SSL certificate, no HTTPS, no padlock in the browser. The checkout and shop pages at naturallyyousalon.com/store/checkout are also unencrypted. Any customer who books a service or purchases a product is submitting personal and payment information over an unencrypted connection. The site's copyright reads “2024 All Rights Reserved” while the content itself was last meaningfully updated in 2017 — gallery images have file timestamps from that year and the about section references 2017 events.
Naturally You Salon is processing bookings and product purchases over an unencrypted HTTP connection. Customer data — including payment information — is not protected by SSL. The browser displays “Not Secure” before a client completes their first transaction. This is live at naturallyyousalon.com today.
Nashville's natural hair salon market is a community with real word-of-mouth and social media presence. Clients in this market are informed consumers — they notice the “Not Secure” warning in their browser. A site that can't secure a booking form communicates something about how seriously the business takes client data.
The Business
Naturally You Salon serves Nashville clients with natural hair services, treatments, and products. The salon built an online presence early — establishing a Weebly site with a product store and booking capability before many local salons had any web presence at all. That's forward-thinking. The problem is the site has been on the free tier of a platform with no SSL support, and the content has drifted significantly out of date.
The salon is operating an ecommerce site — taking bookings and product orders — on infrastructure that doesn't meet the basic security expectations of 2024. That gap is a liability for the business and a risk for clients.

SSL/HTTPS is the baseline security requirement for any website that collects customer information — and it is table stakes for any site processing purchases or bookings. The entire naturallyyousalon.com domain, including the checkout pages, is served over plain HTTP. Every customer who enters their name, contact information, or payment details is doing so over an unencrypted connection.
Modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) display a “Not Secure” warning in the address bar for HTTP sites. Clients who notice this — and many do — will abandon the transaction rather than submit sensitive information. Those are direct lost bookings.
Content Last Updated 2017 — Copyright Says 2024
The footer copyright reads “2024 All Rights Reserved” — an auto-updating copyright year on the Weebly template. But the actual content hasn't been updated since 2017: gallery images have 2017 file timestamps, and the about/blog sections reference 2017 events. A client reading the site gets a 2017 picture of a salon with a 2024 copyright — a mismatch that signals an unmaintained site.
Free Weebly Tier — Platform Watermarking and No Custom Favicon
The Weebly free tier includes platform branding — no custom favicon (the browser tab shows Weebly's default icon) and URL structure that reveals the platform. Free-tier platform tells visitors the site was not prioritized. In a market where clients choose salons based on perceived quality, that signal matters.
