Dr. Terry Norris DMD's homepage banner slideshow — the carousel cycles through three slides, but all three load the exact same image file: 'index_02.jpg.webp'. The slideshow animates, but slide 1, slide 2, and slide 3 are identical. A KDA president and Pierre Fauchard Academy Fellow presenting their practice this way.

The homepage of drterrynorris.com opens with a banner slideshow. It cycles through three slides. All three slides display the exact same image — the same photograph, same crop, same file. Three transitions that animate to the same picture every time. For one of the most credentialed cosmetic dentists in Western Kentucky, the website's primary visual feature announces that nobody has looked at the homepage since it launched.

The Practice

Dr. Terry L. Norris has been practicing cosmetic dentistry in Owensboro since 1979. He served as President of the Kentucky Dental Association from 2011 to 2013. He holds a Fellowship from the American College of Dentists, a Fellowship from the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and a Presidential Citation from the KDA. His staff averages 33 years of experience with the practice.

These are extraordinary credentials for a private cosmetic dental practice. They represent decades of professional investment and peer recognition. None of them appear prominently on the homepage. What appears prominently is a malfunctioning three-slide banner cycling through one photo.

What We Found

A homepage that doesn't know what year it is — and credentials that are nowhere to be found.

The Three-Slide Slideshow With One Slide

The homepage hero uses the Officite dental platform's standard banner widget, configured for three rotating slides. The image source for all three is:

webmgr/1o/j/4/index_02.jpg.webp

The slideshow was configured at launch with placeholder content and never updated. A new patient visiting the site sees the banner animate, watches it transition to the next slide, and notices that nothing changed. The impression it creates is exactly what it suggests: a site that hasn't been touched in years.

KDA President, Pierre Fauchard Fellow — Not on the Homepage

The homepage copy briefly mentions “an experienced dentist who stays current in the field” and “a friendly dentist who counsels you on the best ways to maintain and improve your teeth.” These are the credentials of any average dental website. The KDA presidency, the Fellowship awards, and the 47-year specialty practice aren't prominently featured anywhere a new patient would find them in their first thirty seconds on the page.

A 2005-Era Site in 2026

The Officite platform serving this site was designed around 2010. The navigation links to an “ADA Patient Library” iFrame widget. The visual design predates mobile-first design standards by more than a decade. Patients comparison-shopping cosmetic dentistry in Owensboro are comparing Dr. Norris' site to practices with modern, high-photography dental sites. In that comparison, the site looks like it belongs to a retired dentist, not an active specialist with 47 years of clinical excellence.

What We'd Build

Dr. Norris has credentials that most cosmetic dentists spend entire careers trying to earn. The site should make them impossible to miss.

Credentials That Open the Page

“KDA President 2011–2013 · Pierre Fauchard Academy Fellow · 47 Years of Cosmetic Excellence.” That's the first thing a new patient should read. Not a generic tagline about “quality care.” The specific, earned markers of clinical distinction that separate this practice from every other dentist in Western Kentucky.

A Smile Gallery That Actually Shows Work

The spec redesign features an actual before/after smile gallery — real cosmetic case results that demonstrate what Dr. Norris delivers. A KDA president who has been doing veneers, crowns, and Invisalign for nearly five decades has cases worth showing. They belong front and center, not buried in a navigation link.

A Homepage That Works on Mobile

The majority of dental searches happen on mobile devices. The spec redesign is built mobile-first — a clean, fast-loading page with a direct “Schedule a Consultation” CTA visible without scrolling, and a site that doesn't require pinching and zooming to read.

Spec Redesign Deliverables

  • KDA Presidency, Fellowship credentials, and 47-year specialty practice above the fold
  • Before/after smile gallery showcasing Dr. Norris's cosmetic case work
  • Modern hero with real photography — no three-slide loop of the same image
  • Mobile-first layout with “Schedule a Consultation” CTA above the fold
  • Service pages for veneers, Invisalign, crowns, and cosmetic procedures with real descriptions

The Opportunity

Cosmetic dentistry is a premium, elective service. Patients researching their options are comparing credentials, viewing before/after results, and forming strong first impressions based entirely on online presence. A KDA past president with 47 years of specialty practice is the highest-credentialed cosmetic dentist in the Owensboro market — but the website doesn't communicate that.

A new patient doing side-by-side comparison of cosmetic dentists in Owensboro will see a modern, mobile-optimized competitor site next to drterrynorris.com's 2005-era layout and a slideshow with one picture. The credential gap is enormous and works entirely in Dr. Norris's favor — if the website would say so.

A site that matches the practice is how 47 years of clinical excellence converts into the consultation requests it has already earned.
